           Every massage place typically offers the clients a glass or bottle of water after their session. There is a reason!

           Drinking water helps further flush out the lactic acid that was broken up during the massage session. Especially if you received a neuromuscular or deep tissue session. These techniques need the extra help that water can provide. The number one benefit of massage is circulation. During your massage the adhesions or tightness is broken down by the manual therapy and whisked off into circulation and eventually flushed out the system completely. The water helps this process along.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           I like to think of water and movement as the two homework assignments I send home with my clients. 90% of my personal clientele receive deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy and I always send them home with bottled water and instruction to drink more if they can and go for a walk or swim or some light form of exercise.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           DO NOT

            go home and lay on the couch or get patio day drunk on margs! Even though both sound amazing haha!!! Not drinking water and lack of movement could result in you feeling like crap the next day, which we do not want to happen!

           Being that we are a “massage place”, our website needs to emulate trust and confidence. You need to see that we are not a creepy establishment and that we only have licensed, presentable therapists who work here. You need to feel like you can trust us while laying face down and half naked (or fully naked) in a dark room with a stranger, haha!! If you suffer from chronic issues or stress &amp;amp; tension, you want to know that the practitioner is skilled and knowledgeable and will help relieve you of your issues. You need to know that all practitioners are professional. The website needs to be simple to navigate, not overwhelming with information but enough to evoke confidence in our abilities. Navigating through the website needs to be easy and make you feel confident you are making the correct decision when it comes to your massage needs.

           Scheduling

           Scheduling your massage should be easy. I say should be because technically it should be easy to get an appointment with us. I will be the first to admit, this can sometimes not be as easy as I would want. Our appointment scheduler is easy to find on our website and fairly easy to navigate. However, what isn’t easy is finding an appointment that works well for your time frame AND with your requested therapist. We are a high demand group of therapists and we encourage rebooking and booking out in advance. This will sometimes lead to limited availability.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Pre-Covid we had a dedicated front desk receptionist to answer the phone every time it rang. Now, as a team, all the therapists answer the phone and return missed calls and voicemails in between clients. Therefore, you may call to schedule and it could take us up to an hour and half before someone calls you back. Rest assured we WILL call you back! This can be frustrating for some people and I understand and apologize for this inconvenience. This is just our new normal. We are dedicated to our regular and future clients and do our best to accommodate as many people as possible. We stay open until 7p M-F to be available for after work appointments. We are also open Saturdays to accommodate over the weekend. We close on Sundays to give the whole team an opportunity to rest, recharge, and be with family and friends. 
          &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           One aspect to scheduling with us that is different from other massage places, we do not require a credit card to book. This is on purpose. In no way do I want our clients to be concerned about unauthorized charges to their credit card. Requiring a credit card to book presents more cons than pros in my opinion, so we choose to not do this.

           At this point in the Flow of Experience you are confident in your choice of Bodyworks and you’ve been able to secure an appointment with your requested therapist at a time that’s convenient for you. Now you’ve arrived at our office for your massage.

           You’ve arrived for your appointment and we are expecting you. Your therapist will greet you outside! Once inside you will notice the calm energy, soothing sounds, and pleasing aromatherapy. The office is clean with minimal clutter throughout. No products on the shelf to buy or anything that would make you feel pressured to purchase. You are here to relax and feel better, not inundated with more decisions. Your therapist will escort you to the massage room. Here you will notice more of the same. Calming atmosphere, pleasant aromatherapy, soothing meditation sounds, and the lighting is dim but not too dark.

           If you are a new client, you will fill out your intake form, then discuss with your therapist why you are here for a massage. They will listen and customize the massage session to meet your needs. Each session is different based on the client. No cookie cutter massages. Once you and your therapist have finished communicating, he or she will exit the room and leave you to undress and get comfortable on the massage table… under the sheet and blanket of course :)
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Once you are on the massage table, you will notice the heat from our heated tables, the weight of the blanket (not too much but just right), the sheets are clean and free from tears or stains, and you will feel yourself start to relax. For the next 30 minutes - 90 minutes you are receiving the customized massage session that you are expecting! You’ve turned your phone to airplane mode and you are free to breathe deep, clear your mind, and make no decisions. Of course if you need adjustments made, ie the table is too warm or the room is too chilly for your liking, please let us know. Communication is important so we can exceed your expectations. Majority of people prefer to not talk during their massage. So if you do need to make some modifications so you can wholly relax, feel free to tell us during the consultation time or at the beginning of the session. This way you can fully enjoy your experience with us.

            Your massage session has ended. Your therapist will be waiting at the front desk for you. There is no rush to jump off the table and get out the room as fast as possible.           Wait outside in your car, we will come get you when it’s time for your appointment.

          Once inside, you will be asked a series of questions to ensure the health safety for all of us.

          We will take your temperature.

          No walk-in appointments.  You are required to schedule in advance.

          We clean &amp;amp; disinfect in between each client. Which we have always done, but now it’s sevenfold. Therefore, fewer appointments per day are available.

We have always done well in keeping a clean and sanitized facility.  So clean sheets and blankets, plus sanitizing after each client is nothing new to us but…  Due to the current state of affairs, our cleanliness has amped up sevenfold. We’ve extended the times in between clients in order to disinfect thoroughly.

           2.	Limited staff.  Only 6-8 people will be allowed in the building at one time. Front desk staff will be working from home.

          Why I am not a fan of excessive social media:

        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             I dislike that algorithms choose what [it thinks] I want to see 
            &#xD;

      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             I do not like being inundated with ads 
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Majority of apps have one goal in mind &amp;amp; that is to keep you “playing” their app forever.  Whether it’s a game or social media platform.  They want you to never leave.

        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             There is much more to life &amp;amp; relationships outside our phones  
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Flip Side:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;

            If used correctly &amp;amp; sparingly, social media can be a great thing!
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        
            An easy way to share your life with people you care about.  Real people that in return care about you.  Not curious about you but care about you, there’s a difference.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
        
            You get to know me, my team, and philosophy and as a result you gain trust in us.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/ol&gt;&#xD;

           The Conundrum I Find Myself In: Consumer vs Business Owner:

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          Over the years I have felt stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to social media.  The consumer (consuming information) vs the business owner (producing information).  “They say” if a business isn’t shoving their info or product in your face, they aren’t doing something right.  I disagree.  I do not like constant presence on social media because I want you enjoying life not scrolling through pointless shit.  As a consumer, I want to get on social, see my peeps and the businesses I support then I’m out.  Off to do something more tangible.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Here is where the problem has always been: needing to communicate with you and “sell my services” VS inundating your social feed to the point of redundancy.  As a consumer, I hate the constant posts and buy this and buy that AND some of the same shit month in and month out. Since I don’t like receiving info that way, I don’t want to put out info in the same manner.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          As a business owner, I can’t ignore social media.  In fact, it is a key component of my marketing strategy.  Not necessarily to get new clients, but to regularly communicate with the clients we already have.  To speak to the people who are interested in us. Who care about us. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          This is a HUGE reason I am starting this blog. I don’t want to be between a rock and a hard place anymore.  I think this blog allows me a happy medium and hopefully continues to gain your trust and confidence.
