Christen is the owner of Bodyworks and also a massage therapist. She graduated in 2006 with honors from the Texas Massage Institute in Dallas, in 2008 was certified as a Medical Massage Practitioner, and currently has over 1000 hours of education. From 2007-2015, Christen owned, operated, and sold two massage therapy clinics and worked exclusively with chiropractors and medical doctors.

Goal Oriented Therapy (though not an official term) is one type of therapy you will receive when seeing Christen for your massage needs. Many clients choose Goal Oriented Therapy because they have issues that need to be managed and a goal to reach. Examples of such issues are sciatic pain, headaches, low back pain, or neck/shoulder discomfort. Better range of motion, headaches with lesser intensity, or overall less pain during activities of daily living are examples of goals clients work to achieve. This type of technique blends Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue work, Trigger Point Therapy, and some Swedish techniques to make the overall session relaxing. Modalities such as Pregnancy Massage and Sports Massage are also goal oriented. Both athletes and pregnant women benefit greatly from all the combined techniques. Christen works with the University of Arkansas football team, utilizing Goal Oriented Therapy for both game preparation and recovery.

Christen also has training in the Raindrop Technique, Swedish Massage, Hot Stone, and Express Facials; all of which will certainly meet your zen needs.
